4G's Mexican Restaurant

I woke up at 12:00 in the afternoon and slowly got out of bed. It was my day off work and school so I wanted to be lazy all day. A part of being lazy was not making my own food! Luckily my mom was home and she hadn’t consumed any food yet either. After taking a shower I went downstairs where I was confronted by my mom. She asked me if I wanted to go to lunch somewhere with her. Without hesitation I immediately answered “4G’s”! 4G's is a family owned Mexican restaurant that I have been going to since I was about 8 years old. The answer to my mom’s question was almost routine since we have been there so many times. The drive from my house to the restaurant was about 20 minutes but well worth it. Upon arriving the first thing you notice is the vast amount of open parking spots. If only people knew what 4G’s held for them the parking lot would be full, but that’s what makes this restaurant so special, it’s small and desolate. As we enter we see the same familiar faces that we saw the week before. We are greeted with warm family type hospitality and then taken to our table. Before we even interact with our server she comes to our table with a cup of coffee for me and a glass of water for my mom. Jamie is our server and she usually always is. She knows that I always get breakfast and always get coffee with my breakfast so she brings it out without even asking. Along with our drinks she also brings out a basket of chip with a bowl of salsa. The chips and salsa are delicious and probably the best I’ve ever had. It’s impossible to only eat one which sometimes causes me to get full before I even get my meal. After giving us a few minutes to look over the menu our server takes our order. Although 4G’s is a Mexican restaurant I always get breakfast. I order the 3 eggs, hash browns (extra crispy), bacon and white toast. The eggs for some reason are larger than normal eggs but the quantity does not substitute the quality because they taste amazing. Whether I get them scrambled or over easy they still taste good. I think there is a trend going on with the food there because all of it seems to be a lot larger than most. The bacon slices are gigantic, about the size of a small ruler. The hash browns are piled high and the cooks make sure there is no room left on the plate. Before attempting to devour my meal I take a moment to gaze upon it. I respect how organized and delicious the food looks so I stare at it for a few seconds in amazement. This builds up my appetite even more and makes the food taste even better. After about five minutes of gorging my once mountain of food is now completely gone. It’s hard to take your time and enjoy the food when it tastes so good. After my mom finishes her food we receive our bill and walk up to the register to pay. Our entire bill is around 10 dollars which leaves us feeling like it was money well spent every time. How can a place that gives you so much food be so cheap? We then leave and go home, feeling full and unable to eat for a few hours.

Two days later it’s Sunday and my entire family is
home including my brother who came down from
CSU. Once again we decide to go to 4G’s for breakfast and no one has any complaints. We have
made going to 4G’s a tradition and a part of our
lifestyle. Most of the time I’ll get breakfast but
occasionally I’ll get the Tostadas or something else
if we go later in the day. It can easily be said that
all the food there is delicious and you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. After finishing our meals we decided to order a large plate of Sopapillas. These are not ordinary sopapillas –they are 4G’s sopapillas! So of course they are huge and you need a family of people to finish them. The sopapillas are an excellent way to end an awsome meal. Everyone at the table gets one large sopapillas and how you eat it is up to you. They are large and fluffy and seem like they weigh as much as a packet of Sweet N Low. My brother and mom like to eat it plain while my dad and I like to load ours up with lots of honey! The honey adds a sweet flavor to an already sweet dessert. If you are a huge fan of sweet treat and desserts then you will love this. It's something different then the usually icecream or cake type desserts that you get from other restaurants.

On average I would say me and my family go to this amazing restaurant at least once or twice a week. Even if I don’t go with my family I’ll go with some of my friends. There are so many awesome things about that restaurant that keeps bringing me back. All the food there is awesome, the servers are super friendly and the best part is the chips and salsa. 4G’s has a large variety of Mexican foods from enchiladas to burritos and this is what makes it diverse from other restaurants. Every aspect about 4G’s is great and that's what keeps me comming back.
